Route

Chase on Road or Gravel. Two routes north, one destination.

Ride out of Copenhagen and up through Sjælland to the Helsingør-Helsingborg ferry, then across into Sweden. Long hours of forest and lake country, the roads emptying as you go. Into Norway on the final stretch, where the land starts to rise and the light barely leaves, all the way down to the Oslo fjord.

  • Helsingør to Helsingborg. Twenty minutes across the narrowest point of the Øresund, with Kronborg at your back and Sweden close enough to see the whole way over.

    Departures every 15 to 30 minutes.

    The race time keeps running while you're on board, and it's over almost before you've sat down. Eat fast. Denmark ends here.

  • Mid-June, it never really gets dark. In Sweden you'll get a couple of hours of dusk. By Norway it's a blue half-light that fades before two in the morning and then starts getting brighter again.

    Riders who have never ridden this far north sleep less than they planned to.

    Spin the legs and meet the people you'll be riding with. Everyone welcome, easy pace, no one dropped.

    Collect your welcome pack and GPS tracker, and get your rider briefing, then pasta party before the longest day of your year.

    Briefing attendance is expected. If your travel makes it impossible, tell us beforehand and we'll sort you out.

  • Your dot goes live at the start. Friends and family can follow you the whole way, and Dotwatcher will be covering the race.

    In 2026 the fastest road rider took 23 hours 41 minutes and the fastest gravel rider 30 hours 35 minutes, so expect the first dots in Oslo late Saturday morning. Most of the field arrived between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

    Finish venue in Oslo, announced by 1 October.

    Every rider gets cheers, photos and a drink on us. We stay at the line until the last one rolls in.

    You rode to Oslo. You don't have to ride back.

    Sailing with our partner Go Nordic Cruiseline, the overnight ferry leaves Oslo at 16:00 and arrives in Copenhagen at 10:00 the next morning. Your bike travels with you. Easy!

    Dinner is a buffet with the rest of the chasers, which is where the stories from the road actually get told. There's a cabin if you want to sleep, and a club if your legs have anything left. Most riders manage both. ;)

    Optional, and booked separately. Details and pricing published by 1 October.

  • Your drop bag and bike box (optional) travel to Oslo with us and are waiting at the finish. Our Chief of Logistics is there with the van.

    Available from the moment the first riders come until Wednesday June 8th 11h00 AM.

    Scratched or unable to reach the finish? We'll ship your bag to your home address, at your cost.

General Entry

Join riders from across Europe and the rest of the world. limited to 100 road and 100 gravel chasers.

General entry is 395 EUR and this includes:

Youth discount: born in 2001 or later? You get 10% off. See the FAQ for how to claim it.

  • The day before the start, check-in and rider briefing at the HQ of Go Nordic Cruiseline. Everything you need for the race!

  • Meet you fellow chasers and carb load at the same time.

    We will make sure you get your tummies well fed.

  • All necessary information about the race, the route and other recommendations will be shared 4 weeks before the race starts.

  • We organize one large group chat. Riders use it to organize accommodation, sort travel to Copenhagen and find chasers riding at their pace.

  • Every chaser gets a live GPS tracker. Follow the dot in real time as the route unfolds, kilometer by kilometer. Your friends and family can follow your challenge until the finish line.

    A refundable deposit of 150€ for each rented tracker will be required, to be paid within two weeks before the start. The deposit will be refunded once the tracker is returned at the finish line.

  • Small bag transfer (max 10 litres / 5 kg) from the start line to the finish line. If you don’t make it to the finish line, we can ship your bag to your home address at your cost.

    Optional:

    1. Bike box transfer: from start to finish. Available for 80 EUR.

    2. Cardboard bike box to fly back home – to be collected at the finish. Available for 40 EUR.

  • Awesome pictures of your race taken by our photographers on the route.

  • A cool badge you can show off with to your friends!

  • Access to discounts with our partners.

Nordic chase is a self-supported cycling race. Accommodations, food, transport etc. are not included and should be arranged yourself. The party ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen is also booked separately.

Prices include 25 % of MoMs (Danish VAT). Nordic Chase is registered in Denmark.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If a participant needs to cancel: refunds are €120 up to 90 days before the start, €60 up to 60 days, €30 up to 15 days, and none inside 15 days.

It is always welcome that you find someone that takes your spot in case you can’t participate.

Race Rules

  • Completely self-reliant! Carry your own gear. Fix your mechanicals. No outside help. Camp in the nature or airbnb along the route. Do it your way!

  • Ride it in 1 go without sleep or party pace it 100 hours.

    Our previous chases have proven that everything is possible. Young and old. Around 95% of chasers complete the race.

  • Every rider is ranked in the General Classification. Riding together and drafting are allowed, so you can share the work with other chasers.

    The Solo Classification is optional and non-drafting. Opt in at registration.

    Solo riders ride the whole route on their own. You can talk to people, stop where they stop and eat where they eat, but you don't take shelter behind them.

    Both classifications race the same route, the same clock and the same cut-off. Fastest time wins each, with separate men's and women's rankings.

  • Every chaser gets a live GPS tracker. Your dot will start moving as the race unfolds, kilometer by kilometer. Your friends and family can follow your challenge until the finish line.

  • The race is simple.

    The fastest time in the General and Solo Classification wins.

Common Questions

  • Ultra racing is expensive, and it shouldn't only be for people with a salary behind them. If you were born in 2001 or later, you get 10% off your entry to any 2027 chase.

    Email us a photo of your ID before you book and we'll send you a code.

    The discount applies to the entry fee only and can’t be combined with other offers.

  • In self-supported racing, riders complete the entire route without external assistance such as private support cars or friends handing over supplies. You carry your own gear, fix your own bike, and handle your food, water, and logistics independently using services available to all.

  • It's both. Some push for fast finish times, others take their time and enjoy the journey.

  • The event is independently organized by a passionate ultra-cyclist based in Copenhagen, see page.

  • Simple: the first rider to reach the finish line wins.

  • Yes, we track all riders via GPS (provided by trackers from FollowMyChallenge.com). Riders must follow the official route to be ranked.

  • Absolutely. All riders must obey local traffic laws. That includes stopping at red lights, using lights after dark, and riding safely and respectfully. Breaking traffic rules can lead to disqualification — safety always comes first.

  • Up to you! Some riders carry a bivvy/tent, some book hotels, some don't sleep :)

  • Travelling to the start, we recommend either taking the train or (Flix)bus.

    Flying is also possible as Copenhagen Airport has good connections.

    Getting back to Copenhagen is easy. Take the party ferry with us!

    We are able to transport your bike box from start to finish. Or, we can also provide you with a carton bike box at the finish. Easy if you want to fly back.

  • Mandatory: lights, helmet, GPS with the route loaded, phone, ID.

    Road: any road bike in good condition. 28mm tyres are plenty.

    Gravel: 40mm minimum.

    Sleeping kit is your call. Some riders carry a bivvy, some book hotels, some don't sleep. All three finish.

  • In general cycling in Denmark, Sweden and Norway is very safe.

    Of course, if you go ultra, sleep deprivation is dangerous and one should be aware of it.

  • You must have travel and medical insurance valid for the full race period, covering cycling accidents and emergency repatriation.

    Nordic Chase carries no insurance on your behalf.
